As we wraped up the remaining foundation work and constructed a new foundation for the Bell Tower we find ourselves at the end of summer. We want to begin on the foundation for the front porch and stairs but funds not permitting we think about some smaller projects to prepare for the winter. A coat of primer sealer would be just the thing to protect the building incase we have another wet winter and make the place look a little more cared for. We are working on a plan to have a painting preperation work day and then a painting work day.

As 2011 rolls around the work continued on the stabilization of the bell tower. Rodney and Steve worked throughout this extremely wet winter to prepare the project and a workday was called for, as some more labor was required. It seems that the previous foundation was quite substantial but did not meet current standards it had to be dug out in order for new forms to be laid for the new foundation.

Rodney led a band of volunteers who pried and dug and hauled out some pretty sizeable rocks that had been mortared together to make an underground foundation. After hours of back breaking labor the excavation was complete.

The formes were constructed and rebar placed. It was our hope to have the foundation poured before pioneer day but that wasn't to be. The wet winter turned into a wet spring. Shortly after Pioneer Day the concreat was finally able to be poured.

Joe Rice was notified and he come and removed the supports and the bell tower is now standing on its new foundation.
